What is anti-wrinkle injection?

Botulinum toxin is an injectable treatment for wrinkles and expression lines. It is injected into the skin in targeted areas. It blocks the nerve signals that contract muscles. The muscle relaxes, reducing and softening the appearance of the skin.

Are there any side effects to anti-wrinkle injection treatment?

Anti-wrinkle injection treatment is considered to be a safe and effective treatment when administered by a qualified specialist such as our resident doctor. Side effects (if any) are minor and may include slight bruising or redness in the treated area. Any bruising should reduce quickly.

How does anti-wrinkle injection work?

When injected in to the skin, anti-wrinkle injection freezes the movement of the treated muscles by blocking the neuro-transmitters for a period of 4-6 months;. To maintain the effect the treatment needs to be repeated approx.  2 or 3 times a year.

Our resident Doctor and trained aesthetic professional and will ensure the treatment is carried out in a proficient and caring manner. Using a professional is really essential as it is very important to make sure the right amount of anti-wrinkle injection is administered in the right area to avoid muscle drooping, asymmetrical results and frozen expressions.

Is anti-wrinkle injection treatment safe?

When administered professionally there are few known problems with anti-wrinkle injection. Anti-wrinkle injection is the most popular cosmetic anti-wrinkle treatment and is safe and effective. As we get a bit older the muscles in our faces become lined and wrinkled as we create facial expressions, get exposed to the sun, laugh and smile, and the natural ageing process leaves us with lines and wrinkles that do not naturally disappear when we our muscles are relaxed. Anti-Wrinkle Injections will relax these muscles giving your skin a refreshing, rejuvenated and more youthful appearance.

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal Fillers such as Juvéderm® are made form a naturally occurring substance in the skin called hyaluronic acid. They are used as injectable fillers to give you a more youthful look at a fraction of the cost of cosmetic surgery. At Dr Aesthetics we use professional quality Juvéderm® to fill lines, wrinkles and hollows.

Dermal fillers can also be used to add volume; plumping and lifting cheeks, chins, jawlines, and temples; plumping lips, and filling thin lips.

Hyperhidrosis treatment

We also offer Hyperhidrosis treatment (for excessive sweating).Botulinum toxin is approved for treating excessive sweating of the underarms, and some clinics, such as ours, may also use it on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet.

This helps reduce sweating in these areas by blocking the signals from the brain to the sweat glands. Around 15-20 injections are given in the affected areas of the body, such as the armpits, hands, feet or face. Our doctor will be able advise the best form of treatment in your confidential consultation.
